LICC - Chess Lessons


Neal Bellon, Director of the Long Island Chess Club, is available for private chess lessons for both children and adults. Adult beginners are a specialty!  Neal is an experienced chess teacher and player, and a regular columnist for Empire Chess magazine. Professionally, he is in his 22nd year as a NYS certified public school teacher on Long Island and has both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree. BEGINNER

(themes: using the rook, weak back rank, material imbalance vs. initiative)

INTERMEDIATE 

(WHITE TO MOVE):

(themes: removal of defender, pinned pieces, piece coordination, diagonals and files)

ADVANCED 

(WHITE TO MOVE):

h4!! is the only move that holds the draw, all others lose

(themes: King & pawn endgame, square control, passed pawns, opposition)
